COMPOST SEASON WILL END THE LAST FULL WEEK OF NOVEMBER (weather permitting)
Collection of curbside yard waste material is available to all Buckingham residential customers and will officially begin the first full week of April and shall continue through (weather permitting) the last full week of November. Non customers can also utilize our recycle center by dropping off their yardwaste at our facility for a fee.
Compost cannot be mixed in the trash container per 115A.931 Yard Waste; prohibition. Visit the website Sec. 115A.931 MN Statutes
Buckingham will once again offer several options for your convenience:
The most preferred level of service offered is our weekly seasonal cart and yard bag collection. This service includes a Buckingham furnished 95 gallon wheeled cart that can be placed at the curb along with up 25 additional compost bags weekly. All additional yard waste must be in brown, paper compostable yard waste bags available at most hardware stores and home center retailers. Please contact our offce at 952-226-6441 to find out rates for the upcoming year.
Start Service
A second option is to be on "will call". Simply call our office 24 hours before your trash day and let us know how many bags you will have at the curb. Cost is simply $4 per bag (plus fuel).
Finally, since we are in the community, customers can always bring their yard waste to us! During yard waste season, current Buckingham customers can bring compost bags to our recycling center for $1/bag. Please tie and bundle all brush into no more than 4' lengths. Included brush branches need to be less than 4" in diameter. The minimum fee for a trailer load or truck bed is $35.00.
*No plastic bags accepted.
*Cancellation of this type of service is prohibited until the entire seasonal rate has been paid in full.
*A fee for delivering the compost cart will be applied.
Those residents who have had one of the programs listed above from the following year will automatically be signed up for the service again the next year. If you are not signed up or are not sure of your service level, feel free to call our office and ask to speak to one of our friendly team members for complete and accurate assistance. The phone number you can call is 952-226-6441.
